Error: "The specified default store could not be opened..."

While setting up Microsoft Outlook, you get the error message: "The specified default store could not be opened. Please make sure you can access your default store and try again."

This error is typically the result of a corrupted profile. To work around this error, you need to delete the Outlook profile and create a new Outlook profile. Please follow the instructions here to create a new profile.
